I bought this as a gift to one my most dearest friends and one who helped me to get started in herbalism. As a novelist in the fantasy genre, it is important to me to have a good understanding of herbal remedies, both their actual properties, and things that have long been associated with them. This book is a delight to read, with engaging hand-drawn images of the plants described, as well as both a traditional and a contemporary look at each of the items.
